Worship improvisation for classical musicians.
Playing in church (without sheet music) seems really intimidating, but it isn't as hard as it sounds. In fact, it's likely that you already have all the skills you need to know—you just need guidance on how to actually apply them. That's why we created this free training: to help you take your first step towards becoming a confident worship musician.
My name is Matt, and I've been playing violin classically for 20+ years. I originally learned to play off sheet music, but a significant faith experience changed my life and filled me with the desire to use my gifts to glorify God. But there was one problem—church worship bands rarely use traditional sheet music. So I was stuck.
Consequently, I taught myself to improvise and play by ear. It took years of trial and error (I'm certainly not a musical genius), but eventually I got to a point where I could confidently step into a worship band and add value. Now, I've been playing in church worship settings for more than a decade, and I teaches other melodic instrumentalists (winds, brass, strings) how to do exactly what I did.
This training teaches the basics of improvisation so you can get started playing in your church's worship band. It's the perfect way to take your next step as a worship musician!
